The fitness centre is supervised 8 hours per week.

Monday 7.00 am – 11.00 am

Wednesday 9.00 am – 1.00

My Military background provided me with the experience of training people one on one or in large groups and training people to smash their fitness goals to bits.

Personal Training allows me to help dedicated people to achieve goals, surpass limits and motivate them to become a better version of themselves.
I’ve worked in both the Fitness industry in the UK and Australia; I’ve trained housewives, soldiers and everyone in between.

I’ve been a member of the Future Walk gym for quite a few years now. I like the gym at work as it is convenient, and I can visit the gym either before I start work or in my lunch break without adding extra time to my day by having to journey to an external gym. Previously I would come into the gym and do the same lap around the weights machines and not feel like I was getting anywhere.

The workout I had was based on a paper sheet given to me, with a picture of the exercise on and a list of the exercises. I’ve never been given any help on how to correctly do the exercise or advice on what weight to lift or how many reps etc. I was definitely stuck in a rut and as a consequence not motivated to exercise.

Since Gemma has taken over the gym, it’s been like a breath of fresh air. Gemma has taken the time to talk to me about what I want out of the gym and is now helping me work towards my goals, with personal training given twice a week. Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious and have helped keep me going on the weeks when I’ve been lacking in energy.

I like the fact that I never know what exercises I’m going to be doing on my PT days with Gemma, it keeps it new and exciting. Not only is Gemma providing personal PT sessions, she is sharing her knowledge of exercises and helping to improve my knowledge, so I can start planning my own workout programmes at home.

It is nice to finally be able to see the benefit of going to the gym, after years of doing the same thing and not feeling any different. It’s not just physically I am seeing the benefits; I am also feeling the improvement in my overall general well-being and mental health.

I joined the Gym at Future Walk when I joined Royal Mail in March 2022. The main reason I joined was the fact that it was so convenient for me to use with it being in house and on the third floor of the building where I work. Having used other gyms before I found it a chore to finish work and motivate myself to go and use the gym as it was a 10 minute journey to get there. Something like that might not sound bad but to me it made a massive difference after a long day at work.
Upon joining I met Gemma, the gym manager, who has also been giving me Personal training sessions with my gym membership. She examined my fitness levels at the beginning, which I have to say were not good and proceeded to work with me on workout sessions that were challenging but also rewarding. She has varied the workouts so that I do not become complacent in what I am doing and always moving forward with my fitness levels.

While I admit my fitness levels do have a long way to go in terms of being where they need to be, I have seen a massive improvement since I have started there and can do a lot more physical activity now than what I could do at the start. I find the sessions we do challenging but also fun as Gemma keeps me motivated throughout and encourages me to keep pushing harder all the time, but also keeps the sessions fun and light.

It was a great decision I made to join this Gym and I always look forward to our sessions. It helps me stay focussed and relaxed after what sometimes can be a stressful day at work. I would recommend to anyone working here that joining this gym is well worth doing.
